I attended my special round of neurosurgery as usual
and i was quite late actually this morning due to some problems caused by myself (sigh)
fortunately i managed to arrive before the doctor came
didnt know how fatigue my calf muscles were as i walked as fast as i could
(by the way i just started back my walking habit to class since i found myself so unfit these days hmm)
then after 10 minutes of waiting (ofkos my other classmates had been waiting for about more than half an hour), the doctor came, with a backpack. Cool, though. it is very rare to find a man (esp doctors lah) carrying a backpack here. Egypt kot.
my first impression was ...
I said to kema : Doc ni macam Edward Cullen lah.
she replied : Sapa tuh? (so boring yet so funny of her kahkahkah)
and
when I was about to reply her "drakula mat saleh tu lah" the doctor who was setting up the projector at the front asked us : What is meant by peripheral nerve?
and the lesson started
the class went not so smooth since the lesson was more about the anatomy (peripheral nerve injuries).
the doctor looked very disappointed as most of us couldnt give a precise answer or even a correct guess for his questions.
memang lah kan, anatomy kot. that were 4-5 years back punya subjek. obviously we didnt do much revision on surgery which needs a strong basic knowledge from the anatomy (sigh).
the anatomy of upper limb nerve injuries wasnt that bad as some of us had already taken the topic in their tuition class so they could answer most of the questions (dah cover untuk kitorang dah tu so takdak lah krik krik sangat). that was fine. so and so ja pon. tapi okay la.
the worse part was when we were discussing the anatomy of lower limb. this was the most frustrating part during the class. we were asked about the muscles of the thigh. i didnt remember exactly what was the question but it was something about the nerves or muscles in the medial compartment/posterior group. perhaps we were giving a blank stare to the doctor that made him said something that was unpleasant to me :
"try to think for the answer... do you know fish has no brain?... they only have cerebellum ..
do you know something called cerebellum? ...
archi, neo, paleo-cerebellum?
do you know birds and fish has no brain?" (giving a smirk face)
we replied : NOOOOOO (with the typical musical sound made by malaysian hmm)
then he talked about the BRAINLESS FISH in front of these 'brainy' (lah sangat) creatures.
HOW WAS THAT FEELING, BABE?
perghh, it was 'SUPER FINE' that i started hating myself for being this dumb in front of the doctor. but the fact that he seemed to compare us with FISH (am i too emotional?) i couldnt help myself from being mad (to myself and somehow to the doctor huhu). i knew i shouldnt be angry to the doctor since thanked to him that made me realise how stupid and lacking I am in surgery (anatomy ofkos!!!)
so please, please, please hani. before it is too late, start from now. and tonight i have this feeling of
'i dont wanna sleep unless i can memorize the whole anatomy of the human body perfectly!'.
unfortunately this is only a lame feeling of mine hahaha. tolong lah move on hani. make some progress please huhu :')
the doctor is fine. really. aku ja kot yang manja lebih hewhewhew
and i just wonder-- can i withstand any insulting words during my HO-time nanti.
that is still too far hani.
